The solo games from previous games were substituted with Ultimate Team. However, they function the same way as other games in that each player is competing against the CPU. Just like last year's entry it has seen a variety of players have seen their ratings change, and assembling the team can be fun and work much like a management sim, which requires gamers to separate important information from the trivial. Although it may not be appealing to some gamers, there's a lot of strategy involved in this game, and it's complex and filled with customisation as well.
Madden's story mode that has a poorly written narrative with thin narratives, is the worst feature EA has ever had in their sports games. In a game that allows the player to make choices which affect the storyline of the game it seems that the same thing would occur despite having wildly various options, adding to the list of things that don't make sense in the game.
The voice actors are all phoned in and the animations of the characters are embarrassing. There are even some missing parts of the voice acting where characters are clearly talking , but there's not any sound.
There are a few issues regarding the move, like the frustrating delay on kick meters, however there are still some fun additions. There two new movements that, side hurl and dead leg, help to tackle defenses more effectively as opposed to previous games and it increases the variety of options to make the opponent miss. Thanks to these moves, the gameplay is slightly less monotonous as is something was desperately needed by the game.
Franchise mode has been completely ignored and it is identical to the last year's Madden, which was already extremely similar to the previous year's. EA hasn't even thought to change the mode's layout and if this is an experience mode that made players fall admiration for last year's Madden there's really no need to spend the $60 to upgrade the game.
